Great hotel, the swimming pool is coming soon. That'll be mega perfect. The restaurant will then also be new and there will be a new extension. It's wonderful here. Everyone is polite and helpful. Highly recommended

Very nice hotel in the middle of the beautiful old town of Gengenbach. The staff is mostly friendly. The room very nicely decorated and clean. The TOP wellness area. The breakfast is exceptional and the dinner in the restaurant is delicious. However, we subtract one star: There were four of us and we wanted to order some wine at the bar one evening around 11:45 p.m. That was a thorn in the side of the employee. He grimaced and said that it was actually too late, but then took the order. I think in such a great hotel, where almost everything fits, but what you pay for accordingly, such a thing shouldn't happen. That was too bad. We also complained about that when we checked out. The lady at the front desk wanted to know who it was and whether we could describe this gentleman. No, we don't want that at all. We don't want to piss anyone off, we just want this to be passed on so that the owner can alert the staff if necessary ... Still, it was a nice short break.

Super nice old town hotel where you can recognize the handwriting of the hosts en can. Comfortable beds, beautiful furnishings, very friendly and hard-working staff. Food is superb. The outdoor pool and sauna under construction will definitely be an upgrade for the wellness area.

Great hotel, great individual rooms, rich and varied breakfast, competent and very friendly and helpful staff

The staff is exceptionally friendly and the restaurant in the hotel can be highly recommended. Although it is more expensive, it is really worth eating here and you will not be disappointed. The hotel and furnishings are generally very nice. We were able to enjoy our short vacation to the full!

We were with friends in your dream garden last night. I was really looking forward to the Thai Curry Bowl. But the disappointment was great. My food was bland and there were absolutely no flavors to associate with Asian. The cook should do a Thai cooking course at the VHS in Offenurg - can only be recommended! I also found it strange that the waitress didn't ask how the food tasted when it was cleared. Otherwise the staff was very pleasant and friendly. The chocolate mousse made me a little forgiving, it was really delicious, but I don't necessarily have to go to Gengenbach for that - we won't be back. In this price range there are restaurants that offer a far better quality of food.

Beautiful hotel a dream in the equipment which justifies the prices but the kitchen you have to honestly say is rather average which means solid to very good but not outstanding and with the prices you can expect outstanding

I didn't use the spa area, but apart from it: Nicely decorated rooms. Great decor in the public areas, such as the bar area, breakfast and restaurant room. A super chic and well lit beer garden. The breakfast buffet is well sorted. The flair of the old town house with its winding corridors feels very "homely".

We spent a long weekend in the hotel and restaurant "Die Reichsstadt". It was a thoroughly successful stay in terms of service, ambience, gastronomy and friendliness. The personal handwriting of the hosts was clearly recognizable and palpable both in the hotel and in the restaurant and rounded off our stay, as they say.

Absolute top class You couldn't imagine a better stay in a hotel. The rooms are super clean, comfortable and furnished with love. The spa area is also very nice and offers everything your heart desires. The restaurant with a Mediterranean-style terrace in the backyard is also absolutely top-class. The food is absolute star cuisine

The first visit to the restaurant since the Corona location. But a very successful start. The staff was very nice and friendly. The location, we sat in the garden, is also very nice. The most important thing is of course the food. We had the 3-course menu, for 41 €. The price-performance ratio is definitely right here. Everything tasted great. You could "complain" about two little things. The cellar had not offered drinks other than water on its own initiative and the wine only came to the second course on request. I only mention this for the sake of completeness, of course this did not affect the visit itself. We will definitely be back.

We were there for dinner on our vacation. Super cozy atmosphere, fantastic food, perfect service. It was just a fantastic and enjoyable evening. Thanks to the whole team.

The most beautiful garden restaurant! The different levels, planting and views make the restaurant truly unique. The excellent cuisine and the great service leave nothing to be desired. Just perfect!

We had an incredible time staying here. The family who runs it welcome you like family. Our meals in the garden were beautiful - truly some of the best food we have had since living in Germany. Breakfast was gorgeous, and they provided us with bikes to explore the valley. The town is a hidden treasure, great jumping off point for hiking, biking, and wine exploring. Highly recommend.

Amazing hotel, with very helpful staff, a great garden for meals, and comfortable rooms. The hotel really pampers you, providing you with a welcome drink on arrival, attentive service during meals and sauna, which is great after a day of outdoor activities. Would definitely recommend!

Great service, they have very attentive staff. Spacious and beautiful rooms with nice view of the town. Spa provides a great area for relaxing and meditating.

Stunning looking hotel inside and out, rooms are superbly positioned and equipt well however there are issues. The room we stayed in was a little tired and in need of a little sprucing up. The air con did not work which lead to a really poor nights sleep and meant we had to open the door to our balcony which (although beautiful )was accessible to anyone using the sun terrace. A third of the body jets on the shower did not work and the door to the balcony stuck and had to be man handled open. Overall a lovely hotel with charming if inexperienced staff ( they forgot to check us in on arrival) and most gave the impression it was there first day . It is however a lovely hotel but feel they need to do a little maintenance and training to attain more stars.
